Description

Outstanding Care for One + All

At Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT), our vision is Aspiring to Provide Outstanding Care to One + All. As the main provider of acute and specialist care services for the people of Cornwall, our Chief Medical Officer role is crucial in ensuring that we can deliver Outstanding Care to all our patients.

We are now looking for our new Chief Finance Officer to provide inspirational leadership in our Trust Board and across the organisation to improve the outcomes and experience of people, their families, and staff through the strategic development, sustained financial improvement and excellent corporate management of our Trust.  Particularly, this role will lead financial changes, improvements, and innovation to achieve better outcomes, prevention, and a better quality of care for all our service users. As professional lead for our finance workforce you will work to support all of our teams and directorates, empowering them to make the right financial decisions that enable outstanding patient care.

We are looking for someone who matches our ambition to provide Outstanding Care, but equally who is passionate about driving Outstanding Improvement. We want someone who has compassion at the heart of everything they do, and who wants to use that to help shape and grow our services. The role offers the chance to not just shape this within the Trust, but to work and engage across the entire local health and care system, and we are looking for someone who will want to be a role model for our values every single day.

We want to change, transform, and modernise, recognising that with the development of ICSs our staff will have to work in new and different ways, and it will be vital to transform our services to help make our strategic goals a success. We want to focus our efforts on delivering the right services in the right locations, and our Chief Finance Officer will be a key part of that journey.

With experience of working at or close to board level and recognising our role as an anchor institution for the local community, the development of effective partnerships and collaborations across the health and care system will be critical for success. With very strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will be experienced in building and developing relationships and partnerships with a variety of stakeholders to get the best outcomes for service users and our workforce.

If you are currently operating in a similar role, at Deputy or Board level, and if you want to make a significant contribution to the population we serve, then we look forward to receiving your application. The 430,000 people who live across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly deserve Outstanding Care, and we hope that you can see your values reflected in our own. If you feel this is you, then please contact GatenbySanderson on the number below, as we want to talk to you.
